Lesson 7 Emergency call - Enquiring about a problem
【Situation
【Dialogue 对话】
Nurse: Doctor-I've got an emergency call for you. Can you take it? It sounds very urgent.
Doctor: Yes, of course. What is it about?
Nurse: It's a young man, by the sound of his voice, a neighbour of mr Lindley who's a patient of ours. Lives on Forsyth Crescent, near the Cutty Sark pub.
Doctor: Oh, yes- I remember. He came in last week or the week before, didn't he? Chronic emphysema, life long smoker. Not long given up. Can't work anymore.
Nurse: Yes- that's him. I've got his notes here.
Doctor: What's wrong with him? Why an emergency now? What's up?
Nures: Apparently, the young man went round to call on mr. Lindley and found him practically paralysed in his chair. Shall I put him through?
Doctor: Yes, put him on……
